Off To a Snowy Start This Winter?

More snow is on the way to the Mississippi and Illinois Valleys later today through Saturday with the heaviest to the south and east of the Quad Cities.

This is how much snow we're expecting through Saturday afternoon.

There could be isolated 6" totals in our far southern hometowns.

So far, for the winter 2013-2014 season, the Quad Cities have picked up 3.9" of snow.  Last year, at this time, we had only seen a trace!

Here's a look back at how much snow had fallen by December 14th.

Once we add in the projected snow coming in, it still won't compare to the snowy start in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

And, here's a bonus.  By December 14, 2005, we had already seen more than a foot of snow (12.4") in the Quad Cities.
