Quiet conditions are on tap today, tonight, and early Friday as the bitter cold eases a bit.
Wednesday evening temperatures dropped to almost -10° in some eastern Iowa hometowns before a southerly wind caused a slow temperatures rise early Thursday morning.
Another winter storm will be heading out the Desert Southwest and will bring snow to our southern hometowns by Friday afternoon or evening. The snow will spread across the rest of the area Friday night and early Saturday.
Here
is a first glance of how much snow may fall locally Friday evening
through Saturday morning.
The heaviest snow will fall from the Quad
Cities east and south where 2-4" are likely. Northwest of the Quad Cities,
1-2" may accumulate and it'll probably be closer to 1".
Keep up on the latest updates because once this storm starts moving into the Plains, we'll have a much idea of how this will affect us. As you know, the actual path of the storm dictates how much snow will fall. We'll keep you posted and ahead of the storm.
