Snowfall Update for your Monday...

UPDATE 10 PM SUNDAY.....

The latest information has the storm system passing a little further to the South. So I think most areas will get 1-2" of snow.

A low pressure system is going to be moving into the Quad Cities for Monday and it'll produce some light snow from late Monday morning into early Tuesday morning.

Right now, the low pressure system that will affect us tomorrow afternoon is sitting over the Northern Panhandle of Texas where it's producing snow (shown above). While we'll pick up some light snow, heavier snow will fall in areas just to our South.

That's because the center of the storm will move through areas like Missouri, Kansas, Northern Arkansas, and West Central Illinois. Most of these locations are under a Winter Weather Advisory from now until late Monday night or early Tuesday morning (shown below).

Snow will start falling in the Quad Cities between 9-11am tomorrow morning and it'll pick up intensity after the lunch time hour. So by Tuesday morning most neighborhoods will have picked up 1-2" of snow while some areas to the South of the QCA could get closer to 3" (shown below). Those areas include Galesburg, Abingdon, IL, Biggsville, IA, Burlington, and Mount Pleasant, IA.

We'll have all the details tonight on Ten @ 10 after the Grammy Awards and tomorrow beginning with CBS4 News This Morning at 530am.
